Four friends need to pass through a narrow tunnel in the dark. Jose can make it in 1 minute, Betty can make it in two minutes, Karla can make it in four minutes and Scott can make it in five minutes. A maximum of two people can pass through the tunnel at one time. If two go through together, they must travel at the pace of the slower friend. How can they all make it through the tunnel if they have one torch that lasts only twelve minutes and nobody can pass through the tunnel without the torch? Show how you found your answer.
