I chose mathemathics as a field of study because...
as a kid it confused me and I considered myself, “bad at math”. I tried again in college and found that mathematical competency is not biologically determined; rather it’s the result of focused effort. I am still studying math today. The more I learn, the more I want to know.

A piece of wisdom I gained from...
my calculus teacher is this: it’s not the calculus that fails the calculus student, it's the algebra. For algebra students, it’s not the algebra- it’s the integers! In other words...math builds and each layer is vital to understanding what comes next.

Helping students and working with the tutors.

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Anything coffee

Favorite Movie: Apollo 13. I love the part where the engineers are given a pile of materials and told to figure out how to save the astronauts using only those items. Talk about real-life problem solving!
